Event Sponsorship Tiers

Event sponsorship tiers are the structured packages that allow sponsors to self-select the commitment level that matches their marketing goals and budget. A well-designed tier structure has a clear value ladder: each step up in tier should deliver meaningfully better outcomes for the sponsor, not just more logo placements. Platinum might offer a keynote speaking slot, exclusive networking session, and the largest booth in a premium location; Gold might offer a standard speaking slot, a mid-size booth, and a branded push notification; Silver might offer a booth and logo placement only.

The number of tiers matters: too few tiers (just two options) limits revenue potential; too many tiers (six or seven) creates confusion and slows decision-making. Three to four tiers is the most common and effective structure. The naming convention matters less than the clarity of what each tier delivers — "Presenting Sponsor" and "Supporting Sponsor" can work as well as "Platinum" and "Gold" if the benefits are well-defined.

EventHex's sponsor management tools let organisers configure tier benefits, track which sponsors are assigned to which tier, generate tier-specific ROI reports, and build a renewals pipeline sorted by current tier and renewal likelihood.
