Drip Campaign

A drip campaign is a pre-planned sequence of emails, WhatsApp messages, or push notifications sent at specific intervals or triggered by attendee actions. For events, the sequence typically starts weeks before the event — a save-the-date, followed by agenda teasers, speaker spotlights, and logistics briefings — and continues until the event itself, with a post-event follow-up sequence closing the loop.

The key distinction between a drip campaign and a newsletter blast is personalisation and timing. A drip campaign sends the right message at the right stage of the attendee's journey: someone who registered three months ago receives different content than someone who registered yesterday. Conditional branches let the sequence adapt — registered attendees skip the "why you should come" message and jump straight to logistics.

EventHex's drip campaign builder uses visual workflow logic so organisers can create multi-branch sequences based on ticket type, registration date, or session selections. Teams that run drip campaigns report 25–40% fewer no-shows compared to single-announcement events.
